Mile Marker Zero
On Saturday around noon May 14th my trip begins when I meet Brian at Mile Market Zero. Mile Marker Zero is the historic start to the 184 mile C&O Canal towpath. The towpath is administered by the National Park Service and there is a lot of info in the NPS link This will be my first real life meeting with Brian. Brian conceived of this trip about a year ago and placed an ad on Adventure Cycling Association looking for companions to cycle with. Brian and I are going to cycle 31 miles on the path to Chisel Branch Campsite where we will spend the evening. There we will meet up for the first time with two more cycling companions John and Jay. We'll all get to know more about them over the next couple of months. And then there is Steve and we'll meet up with him a few days later.
