We didn't end up taking a day off in the Missouri capital of Jefferson. Instead we cycled more in the 100 degree heat. 40 miles and 36. The head winds have lessened and that's a good thing. One thing that we are guilty off is not riding early in the morning. We've got to change that as the heat is forecast for at least the next 9 days. We got off of the Katy trail today. We are headed a little north west and headed for Kansas. Yesterday's town of Rocheville is a pretty and very old town of 200 where most people know one another. We ate a the restaurant, named the General Store which it still is in a tiny way. The food was really good. We are in a B&B tonight on Main St in a historic town. There is a Lyrical theatre hear which is a
very nice for a small town such as this. Population 37.
I have been eating mammoth amounts of food on this trip. I think that I will be the only person in history that will gain weight doing this trip!
Oh no more heat? Keep eating and drinking. When we did ragbrai we started at 6am to try to beat the heat. We were usually done at 2ish for the day. I’m you are finding good meals. Keep trucking safely. Judy
ReplyDeleteHi Jodi, Glad to hear you are eating well. It is interesting to hear about all of the small towns you have visited. How many miles have you traveled thus far? Tracy
