July 4th Fort Morgan to Greeley 53 miles

Last night I went to my first rodeo. 

with Joyce and Pat and Steven,. It was another nice introduction to mid Western culture.

We got up early on July 4th for our ride to Greeley. We rode our bikes without gear for the first time this trip. It was so special to ride with Joyce. We had ridden a lot together in our 30s and 40s before she moved to Colorado and I've ridden with Pat a few times before too and that was special too. The 4 of us rode 18 miles to a pancake breakfast to suppirt a local fire department. That was another first I had never been to a pancake breakfast and that was special too!

We ended the day earlyish having ride a fast and fairly easy 53 miles past farms and fracking locations. At 46 miles we met up with Maria and Michelle, who prepared us  bowls of fresh Cherry's and Watermelon and cold water.  What a nice treat. Pat, Joyce, Maria and Michelle, recently returned from a Boston cycling trip and they used my condo as a base. After we finished we drove to Starbucks and now I've completed the Frappucinno tour by having each one of their 3 flavors. We drove to Golden and brought middle eastern food back to Joyce's and Pat's for lunch and had Baclava for desert.
